Wood flooring, board formats and project details

Material notes

Explain wood flooring selection through board format, pattern, samples and the relationship with the space.
HUAGE-supplied herringbone floor project reference photographHUAGE-supplied China project photograph showing the staggered rectangular relationship of herringbone.

Herringbone or chevron: first inspect how board ends meet

·

Herringbone and chevron both turn the grain direction, but their board-end arrangements differ. Before choosing a pattern, examine the joints, strip proportions and room direction.

Material notes
HUAGE-supplied straight wood flooring project reference photographHUAGE-supplied China project photograph as a straight-board laying reference; it is not used to measure board width.

Wide or narrow boards: assess the joints within the room

·

Board width changes more than the size of an individual board: it also changes the rhythm of joints and grain across the floor. Compare samples, room proportions and laying direction together before choosing.

Material notes

Ask separately about top-layer and overall engineered-board thickness

·

Face timber, wear layer and overall thickness describe different parts of wood flooring and need separate checks when comparing specifications.

What information is useful for an initial flooring discussion?

·

Connect design references with rooms, quantities and actual requirements to form a clear project brief.

Material notes
HUAGE Champs-Élysées product image corresponding to the flooring specificationChamps-Élysées product image from the original catalogue; check length, width, total thickness and top-layer thickness in separate fields.

How to read a full flooring specification: match length, width, total thickness and construction to the same design

·

When comparing flooring specifications, the name, length, width, overall thickness, top layer, construction and finish must refer to the same product and configuration. Matching samples and quotations through a complete specification reduces ambiguity from deciding on one thickness or pattern alone.

Products
HUAGE American black walnut herringbone product reference imageAmerican Black Walnut Herringbone product reference image; different catalogue top-layer options require a specific enquiry choice.

Compare flooring quotations by first aligning product specifications and delivery scope in one table

·

Check flooring quotation differences separately across specifications, quantities, finishes, ancillary materials, transport, installation and after-sales scope. Comparing the same measurement basis explains what the budget actually purchases more clearly than unit prices alone.

Services
HUAGE American black walnut straight-board flooring product reference imageAmerican Black Walnut product reference image; site handover follows the actual product and conditions.

Handover before flooring arrives: record site conditions, details and responsibilities

·

Pre-installation handover should cover subfloors, finished levels, services, material storage, installation proposals and approval representatives. Connecting site participants through records distinguishes material arrival from readiness for installation.

Services
HUAGE Elizabeth black walnut parquet product reference imageElizabeth product image; confirm underfloor heating suitability for the specific product and system.

Choosing wood flooring for underfloor heating: confirm the product and complete installation system together

·

Underfloor-heating selection requires checks of the specific flooring, subfloor, ancillary materials, thermal information and operating conditions. Construction names or top-layer thickness alone do not determine suitability. Record conditions of use and responsibilities in the project documents.

Quality
HUAGE Black Suit parquet product reference imageBlack Suit product reference image; compare arrivals against the ordered configuration and approved sample.

Recording wood flooring arrivals: from packaging identifiers to opening and trial-laying

·

Arrival records should connect the order, product, packaging, quantities and appearance; after opening, check the sample match and transitions in the trial layout. Staged records help communicate issues but do not replace the agreed product and installation acceptance process.

Quality

Choosing all-birch plywood-core flooring: distinguish core, face and complete construction

·

All-birch describes the core; European white oak and similar names describe the face. Using Champs-Élysées specifications, this article explains separate approval of overall thickness, top layer, finish and project selection.

Products
Burmese Teak No. 2 flooring application reference from the original catalogueBurmese Teak No. 2 catalogue reference; actual timber appearance follows the approved physical sample.

Selecting solid wood flooring: confirm species, joints and installation methods individually

·

HUAGE catalogue records include solid teak and acacia products. This article explains checks for single-piece construction, 910×125×18mm dimensions, patterns and site build-up, leaving refurbishment decisions to actual board condition and treatment proposals.

Products
Three-layer engineered wood flooring construction referenceOriginal three-layer engineered wood diagram explaining layers; not complete specifications for a supplied model.

Three-layer engineered wood construction: reading face, core and balancing layers

·

Three-layer engineered wood comprises a solid wood face, solid wood core and veneer balancing layer. Separate construction information from specifications, confirming species, layer thicknesses, joints, finish and installation in one product document.

Products
Original catalogue SPC flooring construction referenceOriginal SPC material and construction reference; actual dimensions and performance follow project product documents.

SPC flooring material system: stone powder, PVC, wear layer and UV surface

·

SPC primarily combines stone powder and PVC with a wear layer and UV coating for wood or stone effects. Distinguish its appearance from a natural wood top layer, and confirm the actual proposal through joints, subfloors, application areas and performance documents.

Products
Sveta square parquet reference from the original catalogueSveta parquet composition reference from the original catalogue; confirm modules and borders against the project layout.

Square parquet layouts: coordinating 800mm modules and borders

·

Nine square parquet designs A17 to A25 list 800×800mm modules, 18mm overall thickness and a 3mm top layer. This article explains layout through modules, room axes, borders and doorway edges without applying the group specification to other parquet.

Products
Lotus-leaf shaped parquet sample reference from the original catalogueOriginal lotus-leaf shaped parquet sample; confirm construction, species and dimensions through project selection.

Custom shaped parquet: define units, layouts and edge drawings first

·

Lotus-leaf and other shaped parquet compose floors through unit outlines and combinations. Using original references A28 and A29, HUAGE explains the formats, materials, dimensions, directions, boundaries and samples to confirm before customisation.

Products
Classic Black Oak wood finish application reference from the original catalogueThe original Classic Black Oak materials discuss floors and walls; confirm actual wall construction for the project.

Wood flooring on walls: confirm fixing and edge details as well as material selection

·

HUAGE catalogue Grey Oak and Classic Black Oak explicitly include wall applications. Separate floor appearance from wall build-up and confirm substrate, fixing, corners, sockets and architrave details; do not treat all flooring as wall panels automatically.

Products
Timber-ceiling application photographsSupplied wood ceiling application reference photograph; confirm the specific product and construction for the project.

Selecting timber ceilings: coordinate lighting, equipment and access first

·

Timber-ceiling selection must consider surfaces, joints, lighting, equipment and maintenance together. HUAGE uses supplied photographs to explain material/build-up coordination, without replacing species, fixing or fire parameters with images.

Services
Stair-tread and timber-finish application reference from the original catalogueOriginal catalogue stair application image; confirm tread specifications, nosings and fixing details for the project.

Timber stair treads: approve nosings, heights and floor junctions early

·

Begin stair timber finishes by checking levels across the full flight, then confirm treads, nosings, risers and landings. HUAGE uses catalogue applications to explain coordination of drawings, fixing, slip requirements and schedules without inferring ratings or thickness from photographs.

Services
Original catalogue reference for skirting and wall-to-floor edge detailsOriginal catalogue skirting and edge-profile references; confirm specific components and construction details for the project.

Skirting and flooring edges: distinguishing traditional, recessed, ultra-narrow and skirting-free details

·

Skirting is an associated component; a skirting-free detail involves the wall and floor construction. Following the original catalogue, HUAGE explains traditional, recessed, ultra-narrow and skirting-free options, and the coordination needed at architraves, stone, corners and movement spaces.

Services
Camilla oak surface reference from the original catalogueCamilla cross-sanded process reference from the original catalogue; confirm actual colour, sheen and feel through samples.

Comparing oak finishes: hand-scraped, cross-sanded and brushed

·

The same European white oak top layer can feel different with different surface treatments. Using Champs-Élysées, Camilla and Chloe as examples, HUAGE distinguishes hand-scraped or blunt-tool finishes, cross-sanding and brushing, and explains physical comparisons and specification checks.

Products
Dorothy black walnut parquet reference from the original catalogueDorothy North American black walnut parquet reference from the original catalogue; actual colour and grain are subject to the physical material.

Black walnut, oak and mixed timbers: comparing face materials through three parquet designs

·

HUAGE catalogue Dorothy uses North American black walnut, Sveta uses European white oak, and A21 combines North American black walnut with Canadian maple. Compare physical samples, grain and the laid effect rather than rank quality directly by species, colour variation or price.

Products
Champs-Élysées grain and knot reference from the original catalogueOriginal ABCD selection and knot notes explain appearance scope; actual board faces follow approved samples.

Reading wood flooring ABC/ABCD groups: separate appearance selection from performance

·

Catalogue ABC and ABCD groups describe face appearance selection, including knots; they are not environmental grades. Select through the specific design, combined samples and acceptable face range, checking construction and performance documents separately.

Quality
Champs-Élysées product reference from the original catalogueOriginal catalogue product image for design reference only. Check environmental labels and actual supply test documents separately.

ENF labels and test reports: how to check flooring environmental information

·

ENF is a formaldehyde-emission class under China's GB/T 39600-2021. Read labels on some HUAGE original designs separately from product test documents, checking models, manufacturers, batches, methods and completeness. A label means neither zero formaldehyde nor global certification.

Quality
Chloe wood flooring application reference from the original catalogueChloe catalogue interior reference; care follows the supplied finish and actual instructions.

Wood flooring care and refurbishment: choose methods by construction, finish and actual condition

·

Solid wood, multi-ply engineered flooring and different finishes require their corresponding cleaning and maintenance methods. HUAGE outlines handover records, daily protection, local repairs and checks before refurbishment, without promising a fixed number of refinishes based on total thickness or maintenance-free use.
