Original guidance places opening, colour/appearance adjustment and user approval before installation. Colour arrangement checks actual combinations against approved expectations rather than redefine the product's appearance only after delivery.
First identify who approves the appearance
Owners, designers and installers may focus on different details. Establish early who can approve samples and site board sorting, and how comments are recorded. Unclear authority can produce different interpretations of verbal agreement. Approvers need the original samples and material information rather than one board on site alone.
Before colour arrangement, check delivered designs, specifications and applications rather than mix rooms or batches first. Connect catalogue names, sample identities and packaging to locate material. Resolve mismatches with the approval sheet before discussing colour combinations.
Observe overall transitions and pattern direction
With several boards laid out, inspect transitions in tone, grain and knots and whether key areas meet the agreed natural-variation range. Natural boards are not identical copies, and colour sorting does not eliminate all differences. Identify, photograph and discuss questionable material before fixing large areas rather than install while waiting for appearance approval.
Herringbone, chevron and modular parquet involve direction, centrelines and module joins. Colour and layout approvals work together but are separate. Apply drawing directions to actual site areas, checking cuts and transitions so local appearance does not reverse the overall intended direction.
Turn confirmed decisions into site instructions
Appearance approval can record the inspected area, samples used, authorised participants and unresolved matters, with photographs supplementing the actual combination. Do not write 'fully satisfied' while omitting outstanding locations, or invent a universal colour-difference threshold absent from the original materials. Communicate approved arrangements promptly to those responsible for installation.
New materials, staged supply or changed areas require review of original approvals. HUAGE colour-arrangement guidance preserves appropriate checks; it neither replaces quality responsibilities nor establishes HUAGE UK installation. Site execution and remedies follow project agreements.
