When asking how long a project takes, first define whether the question concerns material availability, site arrival or installation handover. HUAGE recommends dividing specification approval, supply, transport and construction into connected milestones, then discussing timing for the actual project.
First confirm which conditions are already in place
Before the material scheme is fixed, colour, dimensions, construction or finish may change, leaving supply arrangements without a stable basis. Bespoke work also requires sample approval and feasible configuration. The first enquiry date cannot start every stage automatically. State what is already agreed and what remains under discussion.
Production or stock preparation and delivery are separate stages, and a display name does not mean every specification is in stock. 'Fast delivery' in HUAGE's original catalogue describes a service direction without setting a universal number of days. Timing discussions must therefore relate to the current product, quantity and delivery conditions, without turning historical promotions or another project's experience into a guarantee for the current order.
Transport and site receipt each have dependencies
Check cross-border transport, receiving locations and local site access separately for UK projects. Knowing the city alone does not establish readiness of every stage. Building access may involve routes, bookings, handling and storage. Define responsibilities to prevent a gap between arrival and the site's ability to receive materials.
Installation timing depends on the actual contractor, the condition of materials on arrival, subfloor conditions and the installation system. Delivery of the main material does not mean it can be fixed immediately, and completion of fixing does not necessarily release the floor for every subsequent trade. The programme should distinguish these stages and let the actual participants define their acceptance conditions, rather than combine them into a single completion date.
Update the same programme record after changes
Record milestones, starting conditions, responsible participants and matters affecting the next stage. When specifications, quantities or site conditions change, review affected milestones and state which dates remain valid and which need reconfirmation. Updating one chat message while quotations and installation plans retain other dates is insufficient.
HUAGE programme discussions follow actual approvals, without promising universal production, transport or installation periods or assuming Chinese service descriptions include UK installation. Separating stages clarifies material status and the person and conditions needed next; it is not additional procedure for its own sake.
